Dan Miller
Dan Miller received his MFA in painting from the University of Pennsylvania in 1958 and graduated from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts the following year. He returned to PAFA as a faculty member in 1964, where he has taught art history, painting, and printmaking.
In addition to his teaching, Miller has held numerous leadership roles at the institution, including Dean of Faculty, Acting Dean of the School, Chairman of the Painting Department, and, since 1998, Chair of the MFA Program.
Miller has presented 71 solo exhibitions featuring printmaking and sculpture, and his work is held in numerous public and private collections. He holds a BA from Lafayette College, an MFA from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Certificate from PAFA. He is the recipient of the PAFA Dean’s Award and the Percy M. Owens Memorial Award. His work is included in the collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Princeton University Library, Rutgers University, and others.
