John Greig received his Certificate from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and has also studied at the University of Pennsylvania, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Minneapolis Technical College, and the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design. Born in Minnesota and raised in Wyoming, Greig now calls Philadelphia home. A dedicated artist and craftsman, he explores a wide range of techniques across sculpture, drawing, and printmaking.

In his role as manager of PAFA’s sculpture facilities, he works extensively with diverse materials and fabrication methods. Greig is the co-founder of Traction Company, a shared workshop that provides artists with access to tools, space, and equipment for making work. He exhibits regularly, with recent solo exhibitions at Automat (2019), Abington Art Center (2021) and Gross McCleaf Gallery (2023) More of his work can be found at johngreigjr.com and on Instagram @johngreigjr.
