Pop-Up Gallery: Anne Canfield and Hiro Sakaguchi
Pop in to PAFA's Alumni Gallery for a one-night-only featuring the work of Anne Canfield and Hiro Sakaguchi. Beginning at 3 p.m., view work from the artists in front the Alumni Gallery's current exhibition, Brown and Brown. At 5:30 p.m., join the artists for a reception. All artwork featured is for sale -- be sure to speak to the artists about how you can purchase!
Anne Canfield is a painter and draftsperson based in Lansdowne. She was born in 1976 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Canfield received her BFA from Moore College of Art & Design in 1999 and attended the Norfolk School of Painting at Yale University in 1999. Canfield has shown extensively in group and solo exhibitions nationally and her work can be found in numerous public and private collections. She is a past fellow of the Center for Emerging Visual Artists in Philadelphia and has had two residency fellowships from the Ora Lerman Trust at Soaring Gardens in Laceyville, Pennsylvania.
Hiro Sakaguchi was born in Nagano, Japan and grew up in Chiba City, near Tokyo. He moved to the United States in the 1990s to study art at the University of the Arts (BFA) and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (MFA). He currently lives and works in Lansdowne. Sakaguchi has had numerous solo and group exhibitions, having shown at various venues internationally such as the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Secession Museum in Vienna, the Mori Museum in Tokyo, and the Kiasma museum in Helsinki, Finland.
