Child Teaching Rabbit
Eastman Johnson
A child is sitting sideways in a Windsor chair with his profile facing left. The hair is cut in a Dutch-cut style. In his arms is a white and brown rabbit, also shown in profile. The child's legs are slung over the chair revealing boots and red leggings. The entire pose is very informal. The child's gaze - indeed his entire focus - remains on the rabbit. The dark brown background indicates an interior scene.
