Art on Broad: Saturdays are for Art Lovers!

While the young artists have fun in studio art classes, adults can play and investigate the Museum galleries of Making American Artists: Stories from PAFA, 1776 – 1976. Deepen your appreciation and discover new ways to enjoy art with insights shared by guest artists, curators, and outside-the-box thinkers each week, from 11 AM- 12 PM.

Register for individual days or attend all events in the series.

Young Artist Academy, ages 10-14

11 AM-1 PM in the Historic Landmark Building family education classrooms

Embark on a creative journey into the art of painting! Experiment with tools and materials while gaining deeper understanding of color theory and paint application using variety of techniques under the guidance of professional artist-instructor. Discover your own painting style and share it with others.

Saturday Art Classes for High School Students

Fundamentals of Illustration

11 AM-1 PM in the Hamilton Building

Learn how to successfully imagine, develop, and execute an illustration! This course will help students gain effective illustration drawing techniques while encouraging their unique artistic visions. Students will learn the fundamental elements of illustration and design, including different applications of composition, line, character design, color, and storytelling.
