Robert P. Waddington received a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York, an MFA from the University of Pennsylvania and attended the summer program of the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine.

Past teaching experience includes the School of Visual Arts, Moore College of Art, the Art Institute of Philadelphia, the University of Pennsylvania, Ursinus College, Camden County Community College, the Wayne Art Center and Chester Springs Studio.

He has taught papermaking, bookbinding, printmaking, fresco, egg tempera, Renaissance drawing techniques and numerous techniques oriented painting classes.

Waddington is an “enhanced realism” painter, as he terms it, relying on extensive training and knowledge of the old masters as well as modern techniques. He has exhibited extensively and his paintings are in numerous corporate and private collections.

He is represented in Philadelphia by the F.A.N. Gallery in Olde City.

Waddington teaches Open Studio: Drawing & Painting, Renaissance Drawing Techniques, Anatomical Drawing: The Skeleton, Secrets of Realistic Painting, Painting the Costumed Figure, Advanced Portrait Painting (and many more) in the Continuing Education program.
