Student Transcripts

A transcript is documentation of a student's permanent academic record, which usually means all courses taken, all grades received, and degrees/certificates conferred to a student.

An official transcript is signed by the Registrar and is usually required when you apply to another college/university or for employment. Official transcripts have a processing fee of $8.00 each. Deliver methods include:

  1. Print and Mail: the official transcript is printed on special security paper, has an embossed seal, and is placed in a sealed envelope. Official transcripts are mailed directly from the Registrar’s Office to the recipient (college/university, employer, student, etc.). Domestic shipping via USPS letter mail is included. International shipping costs are not included and are the sole responsibility of the requester.
  2. Email: the official transcript is emailed as an attached PDF directly from the Registrar’s Office to the recipient. PAFA does not use electronic transcript servicers like Parchment, National Student Clearinghouse, etc. If requesting an email transcript, it is up to the requester to make sure that the receiver will accept an emailed transcript as official. Some institutions will not consider emailed transcripts as official even when sent directly from the Registrar’s Office.

Before completing an Official Transcript Request, please be advised of the following:

  • PAFA's normal processing time is 5-7 business days. Processing time does not reflect delivery time. Orders placed during peak times (i.e. Add/Drop, Registration, Commencement) or when the Registrar’s Office is closed may take longer to process.
  • There is an $8.00 processing fee for each official copy of your transcript.
  • An official transcript contains your full academic record across programs. If you enrolled in multiple PAFA programs, then all programs will be included in a copy of your official transcript.
  • Please fill out the Request an Official Transcript online form with as much information as possible — incomplete or incorrect information could delay the processing of your request.
  • You can use the “Additional Instructions” field on the form to provide additional information that can help process your request. Examples: you were enrolled at PAFA under a different name, official transcripts need to be mailed to a Centralized Application Service(CAS) processing center with additional documents, etc.
  • An official transcript request must be submitted for each transcript copy. Populi, PAFA’s student information system, cannot process orders for multiple transcripts in a single transaction. Example: if you need 3 copies of your official transcript, then you will need to submit the Request an Official Transcript form 3 separate times.

In-Person Transcript Pickup

PAFA does not offer walk-up transcript service. Printed official transcripts may be picked up in person, instead of mailed, with advance notice. In the "Additional Instructions" field, please note that you would like to schedule an in-person transcript pickup instead of having the transcript mailed.

Expedited/Rush Transcripts

PAFA does not offer expedited transcript services; normal turnaround time is 5-7 business days. If you need a transcript on short notice, please make that clear in your request and we will make every effort to process your request as quickly as possible. We can also send an unofficial transcript via email to the recipient with a note letting them know that the official transcript will follow shortly.

Unofficial Transcripts

An unofficial transcript is simply your transcript information on a white sheet of paper. The transcript will say “unofficial” and will not signed by the Registrar. It may be used by the student as a reference or can sometimes be sent as a temporary confirmation of your education during an application process. Unofficial transcripts are emailed as a PDF. There is no fee for an unofficial transcript. To request an unofficial transcript, please contact the Registrar’s Office.
