Advising & Academic Support

If you need support, PAFA has the academic resources you need to help you meet your goals, from general academic guidance to one-on-one advising.

Academic Advising

Academic advising extends the mentoring relationship between students and faculty, as they work together to plan a meaningful learning experience at PAFA.

All students have a faculty advisor in their program. Advisors work individually with their advisees each semester to discuss their interests and goals and to build a full schedule of classes and critics.

Students must meet with their academic advisor prior to the day of registration. Students should bring their registration roster signed by the student and their academic advisor.

Academic Accommodations

PAFA is committed to assuring equal educational opportunity and full participation for all students. Disclosure of a disability is voluntary, and a student’s responsibility. A student with a documented disability may be eligible to receive assistance through the Office of Student Services. Eligibility for reasonable accommodations is determined on a case-by-case basis after comprehensive documentation is reviewed.

Documentation must be current (within the last 3 years) and directly submitted by a qualified practitioner who is not related to the student. It must consist of a comprehensive assessment and include evidence of substantial impairment of a major life activity. Treatments and services currently utilized to minimize the impact of the condition should be described, as well as recommendations for accommodations in a post-secondary setting.

PAFA is a non-profit school accredited through the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).
PAFA is an applicant for licensure with the State Board of Private Licensed Schools.

PAFA, like any other college or university, cannot guarantee that credit earned will transfer to another institution. Transfer of credit is regulated by the criteria established by the receiving institution. It is the student's responsibility to confirm whether credits will be accepted by another institution of the student's choice. All PAFA officials are required to accurately represent the transferability of any courses, programs, and certificates offered by PAFA.
