PAFA and Temple University’s Tyler School of Art and Architecture Announce New Partnership

Collaboration expands academic programs, creates new opportunities, and strengthens Philadelphia’s Avenue of the Arts

Philadelphia, PA — September 12, 2025 — The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) is pleased to announce a new partnership with Temple University’s Tyler School of Art and Architecture. Beginning October 15, Tyler will lease space in PAFA’s Samuel M.V. Hamilton Building, expanding academic programs, launching a critic-in-residence initiative, and providing Tyler graduates with valuable studio opportunities.

The partnership also grants Tyler students, faculty, and staff access to the PAFA Museum and its renowned collections, enhancing academic and professional development across both institutions.

“For more than two centuries, PAFA has shaped artists and contributed to Philadelphia’s cultural vitality,” said Don Caldwell, PAFA Board Chair. “This partnership with Temple and Tyler aligns two distinguished institutions to strengthen opportunities for students and deepen Philadelphia’s role as a national center for the arts.”

PAFA looks forward to advancing this collaboration and its impact on the arts community.
