Morris Atkinson Blackburn

This sketchbook appears to be Blackburn's teaching journal/sketchbook, and is mostly filled with studies and writings from the 1950s. Includes many detailed, large-scale studies of marine scenes, sketches for class lessons, and "maps" of his own works. There are many written entries, including plans and summaries of classes he taught, and other thoughts on artmaking in general. Also included are a few clippings at the end of the book, an Artist Equality newsletter with an article by Blackburn titled, "The Artist Teacher," and a response letter to an English professor at Temple University.
