Joseph Hopkinson

Shobal Vail Clevenger

The plaster bust of Hopkinson (1770-1842), was on view almost continuously at the Academy from 1847 to 1869. Although Clevenger himself never worked in bronze, the Pennsylvania Academy had the bust cast in bronze in 1905 by the Bureau Brothers Foundry.
