Isaac P. Davis

Shobal Vail Clevenger

Isaac P. Davis (1799-1883) was a rope manufacturer by trade and a patron of the arts and served on the board of trustees of the Boston Athenaeum from 1830 to 1845. He had many artist friends including Clevenger who modeled this bust of Davis in Boston in 1839.
