printPHILLY! 2026
PAFA will be represented at printPHILLY! 2026 by both the Brodsky Center and the Printmaking Shop. Together, they highlight PAFA’s deep commitment to contemporary printmaking, from innovative, artist-driven publishing to hands-on production rooted in both traditional and experimental techniques. Visitors can experience work that emphasizes collaboration, material exploration, and the vital role print continues to play in today’s artistic landscape.
About the Brodsky Center at PAFA
Based in Philadelphia, the Brodsky Center is a collaborative studio where artists work with expert printers and papermakers to push the boundaries of printmaking and papermaking. Founded in 1986, the Brodsky Center supports artists—particularly those from historically marginalized communities—in creating new work and has produced nearly 700 complex editions with more than 400 artists across printmaking, papermaking, sculpture, painting, and new media. Collaborators include Pacita Abad, Elizabeth Catlett, Zoë Charlton, Faith Ringgold, Kiki Smith with Mei-mei Berssenbrugge, Mickalene Thomas, and many others.
About PAFA's Printmaking Shop
The Printmaking Shop is a professional-level studio offering artists access to state-of-the-art facilities and equipment for a wide range of print processes, including intaglio, lithography, relief, screenprinting, letterpress, and more. Located in PAFA’s Hamilton Building, the studio supports both students and practicing artists with presses, tools, and workspace designed for independent creative exploration and technical expertise.
Did you know? Individuals can purchase a shop membership to work in either the papermaking studio or the printmaking studio.
Please note: This event is not hosted by PAFA. It is independently organized by printPhilly! All inquiries should be directed to the event organizers.
