An exclusive event for our Peale Circle members, join us for a curator-led tour that takes you on a journey across time, medium and identity. Making American Artists: Stories from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, 1776–1976  offers new narratives in American art history, embracing stories about women artists, LGBTQIA+ artists, and artists of color with over one hundred of the most acclaimed and iconic pieces in American art on display. Led by Dr. Anna O. Marley, Chief of Curatorial Affairs and the Kenneth R. Woodcock Curator of Historical American Art, this walkthrough highlights PAFA’s legacy while shedding light on its continuing role in shaping American art of the twenty-first century.

For more information on joining the Peale Circle and receive an invitation to this event along with exclusive Peale Circle programming throughout the year, please contact Megan K. McCarthy, Ph.D. at 215-972-4127 or mmccarthy@pafa.org.
