Cut Here: Separate the Good Girl from the Bad One, 2018 Gouache and pigments on handmade wasli paper 8 x 10

Humaira Abid’s creates carved wood sculptures, often incorporating elements of miniature painting and installation, examining the stigma that women feel over natural, social and cultural issues. The power and politics in women’s lives are brought into focus through Abid’s global lens as an artist working between the United States and Pakistan. Abid believes that art should inspire humor and surprise, and evoke wonder, a great starting point for conversation when you take your seat at this Director’s Table event.
