Hell’s Angels
Dir. Howard Hughes, US, 1930, 35mm, 127 min. b/w
Made just after the transition from silent film to sound, Hell’s Angels remains one of the best films set during the First World War. More than just an accurate depiction of WWI aviation, Hell’s Angels is a powerful wartime drama and an excellent example of what is now known as the Hollywood blockbuster.
