Organized by artist and PAFA staff member Matt Herzog, this artist-centric group conversation will be driven by weekly themes, featured guest artists, and the needs of our maker community in order to engage fellow artists also tackling the challenges of managing a creative at-home practice.
As artists, we are powerful models for creative and critical thinking. Although we are not new to periods of isolation or reflective thought, COVID-19 has radically changed our routines and put our adaptive skills to the test. Many of us feel the importance of community, connection, and conversation even more now that we are forced into separation.
ENERGY: With everything to do and only so much to give, an artist's practice can feel like a triage mission. How do we sustain our practice when energy is required somewhere else?
Register once, come to as many as you like. This space is for you.
Upcoming Conversations
- May 13 | SPACE: Space can feel isolated, small, or unfamiliar. It can be decorated with kids or a kitchen island. How do we carve creative spaces in our shared spaces? And with the anxieties surrounding us, how do we maintain creativity within our mental spaces?
- May 20 | COLLABORATION: The arts are as much about individuals as it is about collaboration. But with social distancing becoming the new norm, how do we continue to function together? How do we invite new experiences without inviting risk as well?
