Artist Talk: Giants in the Corner and Other Anxious Tales

What giants lurk in our corners? Personal anxieties, mentors, people we admire?
As the 2015 recipients of the Faculty Exhibition Award, Nadine Beauharnois, Morgan Hobbs, and Tony Martolock (all MFA '15) were selected for a show at the PAFA museum one year after graduation. In this past year, each have each wrestled with their own respective “giants” -- fitting in studio time around personal and professional commitments, deciding which influences from graduate school to retain or discard, and responding to the work of artists they admire while cultivating their own visual languages.
In Giants in the Corner and Other Anxious Tales, they are exhibiting recent work and are also including selections from the PAFA permanent collection.
