Sense of Silence from "Interviews with the Contemplative Mind" by Lesley Dill

As we reduce our contact with others through social distancing, more of us are looking to art to treat our longing for human connection. Whether streaming films online, singing and dancing with musicians, choreographers and DJs on social media platforms, going on virtual museum tours or making work ourselves, many of us are consuming spending more time with art as we inhabit fewer spaces. What is it about the capacity of art that makes it articulate the pressing issues of our toughest times and help pull us through them? Join us for a conversation with Brittany Webb, Curator of the John Rhoden Collection at PAFA, and James Claiborne, Public Programming Manager for the African American Museum in Philadelphia (AAMP) about the urgency of art and artists.
