Displaced Person

Waldemar Raemisch

Raemisch's work of the 1940's consisted mainly of direct carvings in granite, his favorite medium; and it often dealt with themes of war. "Displaced Person" shows his empathy for others who, as a result of war, were alone in foreign surroundings and had to make do often with meager resources.
