Bather
Henry Kreis
In the "Bather," a nude woman grasps her robe (a support for the figure) as if startled by an intruder. A variety of textures can be seen: the figure was carved with a smooth chisel and sanded; the hair and drapery were carved with a narrow-toothed chisel; and the base was carved with a wide-toothed chisel. The eyes are blank as is common in his monumental figures.
