Master Class with Ying Li: A Picture Journey of Space, Paint & Vision

Discover how your surrounding studio, living, and outdoor spaces can become inspiring subjects for experimentation in your painting practice with master artist Ying Li. Combine observation with imagination, memory, and improvisation to explore how an objective image can be transformed into a personal statement through the process of painting. Instruction will address the individual development of style, theme, metaphorical meaning, and expression through representational and abstract approaches. Students may work in their choice of oil, acrylic, watercolor, or pastels.

Class instruction will be conducted through a combination of Zoom and Padlet, the free online message/image board, and will include one-on-one discussions, group critiques, and PowerPoint presentations examining works of old masters and contemporary artists. Open to abstract and representational artists of all levels.
