Intersections of Art, Feminism, and Digital Technology

In this special PAFA Pours we celebrate the publication of Judith Brodsky’s newest work, Dismantling the Patriarchy Bit by Bit,  an investigation in how women digital artists are transforming technology under the impact of feminist theory.

Dismantling documents how women artists long ago raised issues that are even more pertinent today in a world that exists as much in cyberspace as it does in the world away from the keyboard. Are cryptocurrency and NFTS an extension of the patriarchal world, based as they are on money and ownership? Or does the way they merge the online and offline worlds offer a chance to promote a non-binary and more inclusive society.

Joining the author are renowned artists Lynn Hershman, Tamiko Thiel, Stephanie Dinkins, Mimi Onuoha, and Terri Te Tau. In this exciting panel, the artists will discuss how digital technology bypasses national and geographic boundaries, bringing the cultural world together and with artists representing the globe
