Sheryl Kessler studied at the University of the Arts and graduated from Philadelphia University with a B.S. in Fashion Design. Her early practice was designing knitwear using knitting machines. In 2011 her practice shifted from garment design to fine art with the addition of quilting and embroidery. She has taught both machine and hand knitting as well as hand stitching, and has shown quilts and embroidery in group exhibitions.

Sheryl Kessler teaches Improvisational Stitching in the Continuing Education program.
