Still Life with Hanging Bird: A Pair
Alexander Pope
In both paintings (see 2006.10.10), a single bird is hung from a string on a green door. In this version the bird (perhaps a partridge?) hangs upside down suspended from a string tied to its proper right leg. The bird's feathers are brown and white, and a single feather can be found at the bottom of the canvas.
