A Tahitian woman, Hina Rapa, was the model for this bust. She was considered an exceptional beauty and is shown emerging from an island pool. The torso is considered to be Rosin's masterpiece and what he is best known for. The bust is smoothly and sensitively modeled and the hair has overall texture.
