Hellmann's Mayo

Karen Shapiro

Karen Shapiro's ceramic interpretations of commercial home products are made at a scale that makes them uncanny, odd, despite their painstakingly close mimicry of their sources. Her ceramics play off the impact of Pop art but also invoke the material commonplace of domestic spaces traditionally managed by women.
