"Encuentro," is inspired by the tropical landscapes of the Carribean. In the foreground two naked bathers wade in the bright blue water on a deserted beach surrounded with palm trees. A native man clothed in a bathing suit stands in a nearby boat. With his expressive gestural painting and riotous color, Ferrer presents an ambiguous erotic and psychological tension in the narrative of this painting.
