[Dementia]

Mark Bradford

The work consists of twelve equal sized panels that are hung with a small distance between each one in a grid that is four units high and three units wide. Each panel is mounted on the wall using four nails, one at each corner. Each panel is made up from a poster that has been collaged over and then sanded down. The text of the poster is raised in relief on the surface and in some cases completely abraded back to the gray cardboard that supports each panel. Overall the surface is white with dark traces of text, and on some of the sections, colored elements that remain from the collage process. All the panels are coated with a surface of clear acrylic.
