Cupid in Wine Glass
Abraham Woodside
Better known as a portraitist, Woodside was the younger son of John Archibald Woodside, the noted sign painter and a specialist in still-lifes. This quirky image suggests the popular nineteenth-century association of wine and amorous behavior.
