Akiba
Harold Jacobs
This piece plus 1983.9.1, with the same title, are part of a series of 250 mass-produced individually created collages. They are named after the Akiba Hebrew Academy in Lower Merion where Jacobs led a group project to create the artworks for a fundraiser for the school. First assembled in his studio, Jacobs had the students do the final stitching and attach a red stick to the center of each piece.
