Pictures of Belonging: Miki Hayakawa, Hisako Hibi, and Miné Okubo
Plan your visit to PAFA to see Pictures of Belonging before it closes on Saturday, January 4, 2026.
Pictures of Belonging brings together—for the first time—the work of three pioneering Japanese American women artists, Miki Hayakawa, Hisako Hibi, and Miné Okubo, whose lives and art were shaped by the WWII incarceration of Japanese Americans. Featuring over 70 paintings, drawings, and sketchbooks, this nationally touring exhibition reveals a broader, more inclusive picture of the American experience across eight decades.
