Join us for a member-exclusive tour and delve into the world of John Rhoden, twentieth century African American sculptor and an award-winning artist. Determined to Be: The Sculpture of John Rhoden is the first comprehensive retrospective of Rhoden, and you'll discover the incredible work and personal journey of one of the most prolific sculptors through seventy sculptures in bronze, wood, and stone. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to explore recently-processed archival materials from the John Rhoden Papers, offering a deeper insight into his life and artistic process.
