About the Exhibition
Pictures of Belonging brings together—for the first time—the work of three Japanese American women artists, Miki Hayakawa, Hisako Hibi, and Miné Okubo, whose lives and art were shaped by the WWII incarceration of Japanese Americans. Featuring over 70 paintings, drawings, and sketchbooks, this nationally touring exhibition reveals a broader, more inclusive picture of the American experience across eight decades.
