Invisible City
Invisible City: Philadelphia and the Vernacular Avant-garde is a multi-site project exploring Philadelphia’s significant legacy with the avant-garde community from 1956 to 1976. This talk, by one of the organizers, Sid Sachs will invite audiences to envision Philadelphia as “a city of firsts,” one which produced the first Pop Art exhibitions, innovations in architecture and urban planning, one of the country’s first rock music magazines, and a substantial post-war growth of art schools.
