William Wood
William Partridge
To model the bust, Partridge undoubtedly worked from photographs. He may also have used a portrait of Wood. Partridge's portrait is a good likeness of the portly William Wood (1808-1894). Modeled in Beaux-Arts style, the sculpture is alive with texture and tool marks. Like most of his portrait busts, the face demonstrates a greater degree of finish than the chest and shoulders.
