Ugesie
Saul Baizerman
"Ugesie," one of the sculptor's favorite works, depicts the torso of his teenage daughter, Ugesie. The forms of the hollow figure flow without emphasis on anatomical detail. The torso was hammered from a copper sheet. Baizerman usually chose to sculpt the female figure, often a partial figure. His works straddle the boundary between sculpture in the round and relief.
