Woman in Kimono
Margaret W. W. Stedman
"Woman in Kimono," is an excellent example of Margaret Weir Stedman's miniature technique. The unidentified sitter is shown in profile set against a simple blue-green background. She is wearing a vibrant orange kimono decorated with embroidered blue floral designs. There is a sense of luminosity in the portrait, and an undisclosed light source that reflects on her hair.
