Palmer completed the clay model for this allegorical bust of Spring by the end of May 1855. He idealized the likeness of Annie Walker, the daughter of his friend and first patron, Thomas T. Walker. At least eight marble versions were carved by his shop. The Pennsylvania Academy owns the first version.
