John E. D. Trask

Charles Grafly

Trask (1871-1926) was active in the administration of the Academy from 1897 to 1912. He was a close friend of Grafly's and served as his business manager from 1905 to 1912. The sketchy representation of the sitter's chest forms a classical herm base such as was used on Grafly's early busts such as Joseph Price.
