William Trost Richards: A Mine of Beauty
In celebration of a recent gift of 110 William Trost Richards watercolors, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) presented the gift in its entirety in a focused exhibition. These jewel-like watercolor landscapes by the American Pre-Raphaelite artist promise to delight with their intimate scale and technical mastery of the watercolor medium.
A Mine of Beauty collects all these images, true to scale, and provides thoughtful catalog essays by Anna O. Marley, Curator of Historical American Art at PAFA, and Linda S. Ferber, an expert on the catalog raisonne of Trost Richards.
