New Student Toolkit

We want to make sure you're set up for success before you make the move to PAFA. Once enrolled, you should review the information throughout this page, to prepare yourself for the start of the first semester. The resources outlined, are important logistical considerations all PAFA students must be ready for and aware of.

What's on this page:

  • Email Account Access (G-Suite)
  • Student Life Insurance
  • Academic Accommodations

Email Account Access

Once enrolled students will be assigned an @pobox.pafa.edu email address for Google Suites:

  • Gmail will be the main form of communication for students
  • Your PAFA email will be your last name, followed by the first two letters of your first name, and sometimes followed by a number e.g. Jane Smith- smithja2@pobox.pafa.edu
  • Your password is automatically generated, feel free to change it to something you'll remember
    • If you forget your password or have questions regarding your account, contact our Director of  IT, Kevin Martin to unlock your account: kmartin@pafa.org

Your PAFA email address allows students access to:

  • Google Suite- Access to Google apps including Hangouts, Drive, and Calendar to connect with people in the PAFA community
  • Canvas-  Academic course management system; which allows students to access online content and electronic reserves for classes
  • Student Portal- Securely view and pay your bill, and access important academic information including grades, attendance, schedule, announcements, billing statements, transcripts, report cards, etc.
  • Digital Computer Lab- All students must sign in before using a PAFA desktop

Check your personal and PAFA email account frequently before you arrive. Important 'New Student' information will be communicated throughout the summer; reminders, announcements, surveys, and more for student onboarding.

Academic Accommodations

PAFA is committed to assuring equal educational opportunity and full participation for all students. Disclosure of a disability is voluntary, and a student’s responsibility. A student with a documented disability may be eligible to receive assistance through Student Services. Eligibility for reasonable accommodations is determined on a case-by-case basis after comprehensive documentation is reviewed.
