After-School Studio Arts Program for High School Students

Since 1994, PAFA has provided studio art training taught by PAFA faculty and graduate stuents to high school students grade 9-12 at over 50 Philadelphia schools.  Our program offers teens who have little or no access to an art program an opportunity to acquire a solid foundation in the fine arts.  This non-credit program emphasizes building a portfolio, developing skills, and artistic growth.

Youth Council

PAFA's Youth Council is a free after-school program offering interested teens a chance to create a prominent place for young audiences in the daily life of the museum.

Student Docent Program

This partnership between PAFA and select local schools allows students grades 7—12 are trained to become museum tour guides for their classmates during a visit.

Pre-College and Intensive Programs

PAFA's School of Fine Arts offers year-round and summer programming for high school students. In these courses, students can gain a head start on developing portfolios for college applications, earn college-level credits, and work alongside other creative, motivated students, as well as learn from our academic faculty.
