Learn about making a life in the art world from a couple who did it together. Artist James Brantley and gallery owner Sande Webster Brantley discuss their two intertwined careers in Philadelphia. James will speak about his journey as an artist and finding the “determination of a pit bull” to sustain his career. His advice, “Find one person that believes in your voice and sing to them.” Sande pioneered a gallery that would stand apart from traditional models. For 42 years, she ran a gallery where black artists and white artists came together and where amazing work was bought by individuals, major collectors, and museums.
