Sumreen Chaudhry is a PhD Candidate in Art History at Temple University. Her primary field of specialization is the Art of Europe and America in the Long Nineteenth Century, with a focus on French Realism and Impressionism.
Her secondary field of specialization is Islamic Art, with concentrations in the Ottoman Empire and the Illustrated Manuscript Traditions. Her dissertation is titled "Edgar Degas and Islamic Art: Rethinking 'Otherness' in Nineteenth-Century Paris."
She received her MA in Museum Studies from the Johns Hopkins University and her BA in Art History from the University of Pennsylvania.
