Sarah Peters was born in Boston in 1973 and currently lives and works in Brooklyn. She received a Certificate from PAFA in 1995, a BFA from the University of Pennsylvania in 1996 and an MFA from the Virginia Commonwealth University in 2003.
She has had recent solo and two-person exhibitions at Asya Geisberg Gallery, Eleven Rivington, and Winkleman Gallery in New York City; John Davis Gallery, Hudson, New York; The Front, New Orleans; artSTRAND Gallery, Provincetown, Massachusetts; and Flippo Gallery, Randolph Macon College, Ashland, Virginia.
Her sculptures and drawings have been included in group exhibitions at Asya Geisberg Gallery, Regina Rex Gallery, Dodge Gallery, Lesley Heller Workspace, Monya Rowe Gallery, Feigen Contemporary in New York City; The Granary, Sharon, Connecticut; Provincetown Art Association and Museum, Provincetown, Massachusetts; MKG127 Gallery, Toronto; the Morris Museum of Art, Morristown, New Jersey.; and the John Michael Kohler Art Center, Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
She has been awarded grants and residencies, notably New York Foundation for the Arts grant, The Fine Arts Work Center Artist Residency in Provincetown, Massachusetts, the Marie Walsh Sharpe Studio Grant in New York City and the Kohler Arts/Industry residency in Kohler, Wisconsin. She received her BFA from the University of Pennsylvania, her Certificate from PAFA and her MFA in sculpture from Virginia Commonwealth University.
