Learn essential drawing practices from master artist Patricia Traub.  Whether forming a foundation or looking to refine your craft, draftspeople of all levels will benefit from this combination lecture/hands-on workshop examining the variety of materials and papers for academic drawing.  Learn how to effectively sharpen a graphite or charcoal pencil to a fine point, which eraser to choose, what a paper stump is for, and much more!   Discover the range of drawing papers available from cardboard to cotton, including fine artists’ papers such as Fabriano and Hahnemühle, and learn how to select surfaces for metalpoint, graphite, conté and other materials.  Original drawings will be presented as examples of each material and technique.
