Academic advising extends the mentoring relationship between students and faculty, as they work together to plan a meaningful learning experience at PAFA.
All students have a faculty advisor in their major/concentration department beginning in their second year. Advisors work individually with their advisees each semester to discuss their interests and goals and to build a full schedule of classes and critics.
Certificate and PAFA BFA students must meet with their academic advisor prior to the day of registration. Students should bring their registration roster signed by the student and their academic advisor.
Writing & ESL Advisors
Need some help with writing? Writing Advisors are available to go over a draft of a paper or even to discuss an organizational outline for an assignment. Sign-up sheets are in Student Services on the 3rd floor of the Hamilton Building. Meetings will take place in the Conference Rooms on the 5th floor of the Hamilton Building.
PAFA is committed to assuring equal educational opportunity and full participation for all students. Disclosure of a disability is voluntary, and a student’s responsibility. A student with a documented disability may be eligible to receive assistance through the Office of Student Services. Eligibility for reasonable accommodations is determined on a case-by-case basis after comprehensive documentation is reviewed.
Current documentation may be submitted directly by a qualified practitioner who is not related to the student. It must consist of a comprehensive assessment and include evidence of substantial impairment of a major life activity. Treatments and services currently utilized to minimize the impact of the condition should be described, as well as recommendations for accommodations in a post-secondary setting.
To submit documentation and accommodations, visit the Office of Student Services on the third floor of the Samuel M.V. Hamilton Building, or contact email@example.com.
