Thursday, November 1st 6:00 – 9:00pm: Signe Wilkinson
On November 1st, Signe Wilkinson, the longtime cartoonist for the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News, invites anyone familiar with her work to join her for dinner and tell her why she is so very, very mistaken about so very, very many things. Those who agree are welcome too!
Wilkinson is one of the most renowned political cartoonists working today, as well as a PAFA alumnus, and was the first female to win the Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning. She has also published two compilations of her work and held the position of President of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists. Wilkinsons’ cartoons are highly recognizable critiques of current events and politics, particularly relevant for considering as an artistic practice in this election season when you take your seat at this fall’s Director’s Table event.
