Your Wedding at the Academy

General Information and Budget Guidelines

Centrally located to many of Philadelphia's churches, synagogues, and hotels, the Pennsylvania Academy is an impressive venue for events of all kinds, especially weddings. The intimacy and grandeur of our beautiful galleries makes every event memorable. 

Many brides and grooms who hold their wedding reception in our historic landmark building find that our angel sculpture, Peri, offers the perfect setting for their wedding ceremony.

The Samuel M.V. Hamilton Building is also available for wedding receptions.  It is home to the only Center City art gallery able to accommodate up to 360 guests.

As part of our commitment to making your wedding celebration unique, we host only one wedding at a time in either building.

A useful guideline is $150/guest (with a 150 guest minimum) which includes:

• 5 hours of event time
• 1 hour cocktail party with open bar and 5 passed hors d'oeuvres
• 3 course plated dinner with wedding cake as dessert
• champagne toast
• tuxedo wait staff
• security and housekeeping 

We will be happy to offer you a customized menu proposal based upon your specific requests.

As the Academy is open to the public until 5 p.m. we suggest that your wedding start no earlier than 6:30 p.m.
